Program Details

Ages 5-10 Boys and Girls

The program is geared towards 5-10 year old recreation level girls and boys looking to improve their skills before the upcoming spring leagues.  Each age group is trained individually to allow the session to be approprietly designed.

Training Locations

The practice sessions are held at Stratford Park , 2635 S. Preston Street, SLC for spring summer and fall. Winter sessions have beenat Riverbend Sprots Complex (300 West 1825 South Salt Lake City, UT 84115), or a new indoor facility (300 West 1825 South).  The Riverbend facility is a turf field where cleats are allowed.  The new facility has hard futsal courts.  These courts use indoor shoes.  Being able to play on both types of surfaces is benificial for overall soccer development.

Recreation Soccer in combination

These winter training sessions are offered in addition to general recreation team leagues. Multiple players from a team can participate in the trainings, but they are not organized into individual teams.  They will be organized into individual age groups.

Training Objectives

Impact Supplemental Recreational Soccer trainers and staff are highly qualified in teaching soccer skills and fundamentals. Their goals are to:
~ Coach drills properly in order to develop better understanding of the game
~ Develop teamwork and confidence
~ Make training more fun by implementing fun drills and games
~ Improve ball control and ball-handling skills
~ Improve players soccer conditioning
~ Motivate players
~ Develop technical, tactical and mental skills needed for success in competitive soccer!

Coaching

All teams have an assigned, licensed, experienced coach. It is Impact's firm belief that the earlier kids are exposed to quality coaching the easier it will be for them to improve their skills. Our coaches quickly instill crucial fundamental tactics and techniques with specifically organized drills and games.

Trainings

The training sessions are customized to the age group and the general skill level.  Each training is lead or assisted by a licensed or experienced coach.  They last 1 hour and include different drills and game scenerios.  There are options for participating 1 or 2 nights a week.

Equipment Needs

Impact will provide all practice equipment, including a ball to use while practicing if needed.  It is highly encouraged for each player to have their own ball to do at-home training, but it is not required to bring for practices or games.  The player will need to provide their own soccer cleats/shoes and shin gaurds, along with practice wear.

Program Training Staff

Trainers and staff are qualified in teaching soccer skills and fundamentals. All trainers have a minimum of a USSF Youth or D License certification, in addition to having extensive experience playing competitive soccer at diverse levels.
