Referee Clinics
Recreation Referee Clinic and Test
This is the basic level clinic required to referee for Impact United Recreation.
Taught by the Impact United Referee Coordinators and Recreation Committee members.
All referees are required to pass the Club Referee Test annually or maintain USSF certification.
There is no cost for this clinic. It is anticipated to take no more than 3 hours and will include a field session.
Please review the Referee Training Outline/Handout found at Referees Page (Recreation – Referee page), arrive 10 minutes early to check in and be prepared to take notes.

USSF Certification – Grade 9 or Grade 8
Many of our referees seek out further instruction by becoming a certified referee with US Soccer Federation.
Certified Referees have a higher pay scale.
Plus there is a Bonus Opportunity for Certified Referees in 2012.
Grade 9 Clinic
Dates: Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday – February 28, 29, March 1 (Must attend all 3)
Time: 5:30pm – 8:30pm
Place: Canyon Rim Academy – 3005 S 2900 E
Cost: $45 to certify with US Soccer

Grade 8 Clinic
Date: January 31, February 2, 7, 9 (Must attend all 4)
Time: 5:30pm – 9:00pm
Place: Sandy Rec Center, 440 East 8680 South, Sandy Utah
(Car-pooling to this clinic may be available. Contact Karin Cooper if interested in participating in a carpool.)
Cost: $50 to certify with US Soccer

TIPS ON THE GRADE 8 CLINIC:
Prior to attending this clinic, you MUST complete the Grade 8 Online Training Modules at US Soccer. When you first start any online module, you will be requested to register. In the line requesting “Clinic Number”, enter the location you are planning on attending (i.e. “Sandy”) for the class room portion of the course.
It would also be helpful to you review the following publications -
“Laws of the Game”, “Advice to Referees” and “Guide to Procedures”. These books, as well as several referee instructional videos, can be downloaded for free from US Soccer Instruction page (http://www.ussoccer.com/Referees/Resource-Center/Instruction.aspx)
