Expected Commitments and Fees

Impact United has two levels of competitive teams from which to choose. These different types of teams are intended to provide Impact United soccer players the opportunity to play at the competition levels that are best suited to them and their families. In this way, players can develop their skills in a manner that fits their unique interest in the world’s greatest sport. The Impact United competitive team structure is discussed more fully below.

BLACK LEVEL TEAMS: The Black Level teams represent Impact United’s premier soccer teams. Black Level players are selected at tryouts, based upon observed skill level, by the Impact coaching staff. The Black Level commitment includes Year-round training, participation in high-level out-of-state tournaments, advanced training regimens and alignment in the Premier or First Division of state competitive play. For older teams, participation in high-level, national tournaments is important to provide, among other things, exposure to collegiate soccer programs. Black Level teams are for the serious soccer player interested in being competitive at the state, regional and national levels. Year-round soccer training is a priority as is strict attendance at all practices and games.

WHITE LEVEL TEAMS: White Level teams are selected at tryouts and are formed with players possessing above-average soccer skills. White Level teams will practice twice per week and play two games per week, as do the Black Level teams. However, White Level teams will travel less than Black Level teams, thought they are encouraged to compete in local tournaments as well as an occasional regional tournament. White Level teams are for players who are serious about soccer and who want to develop their soccer skills, but who may have emphasized commitments to other sports and activities. Black and White Level players will often train together during the off-season and White Level players may be promoted to the Black Level during the season.

It should be emphasized that, based upon current UYSA procedures, all Impact United competition teams play two games per week during the fall and spring seasons, travel throughout the Wasatch Front area to play league games and send their goalkeepers to goalkeeper training. All Impact United teams play in the same UYSA competition league and are placed in the appropriate division based on their demonstrated performance, not on their Impact United level designation.

The Impact United registration fees shown below cover costs associated with the following major expenses: (1) UYSA competition fees, (2) UYSA Region fees, (3) referee fees, (4) field rental fees as well as field layout, painting and maintenance costs, (5) labor costs related to Director of Coaching, Competition Registrar, Field Coordinator, Equipment Manager, Data Base manager, Treasurer, Website Administrator and Treasurer salaries as well as base-level salaries for the coaching staff, (6) equipment costs, (7) coaches education and training expenses, (8) goalkeeper training (all teams) and Boot Camp (Black Level teams) costs, (9) office and administrative expenses and (10) a scholarship program based upon demonstrated need. The base-level coaches salaries are predicated upon United States Soccer Federation licensing level and the level (Black or White) of Impact United team coached. In order to attract and retain an increasingly higher quality coaching staff, Black and White Level teams must be aware that additional coach/trainer fees may be required to adequately compensate Impact’s coaching staff. Moreover, when teams travel to out-of-state tournaments, the team picks up their coach’s travel-related expenses, As well as other incidental expenses.

The following matrix summarizes the commitment level required by the Black and White Level teams:

*Uniform rotations are typically every two years.  Impact is currently in the middle of a rotation cycle. All new players will purchase the new 2010-2011 style uniforms.  These uniforms will also be used for at least the 2011-2012 Season.

TEAM YEAR BUDGET AND CALENDER: Based on IMPACT UNITED MATRIX guidelines, the Head Coach and Team Manager will set up a yearly calendar and budget, which includes all the estimated expenses for the year. The year calendar and budget will be presented to the parents at the first team meeting for review.

TRAINING JERSEYS: A new purple training t-shirt with the Impact United training logo is to be worn at all training sessions. Impact United teams must look like teams at all times, which also means that wearing black or white socks and black shorts with their training jerseys is mandatory. All teams have the option of upgrading their training jerseys.

TRYOUTS: If players are interested in playing competitively for Impact United, please attend the tryout session for the correct gender and age per the schedule posted on the Impact United website. If a player is not sure which age group he/she should play in, answer the following question: how old will the player be on July 31, 2012? If, for example, the player will be 10 years old, then he/she plays in the Under (U) 11 age group.

REGISTRATION: The formal registration process begins after the players are placed on their specific teams. The Competition Administer will give each coach a registration packet. The team manager, not the coach, should organize and complete the team registration process. Each player will (1) fill out a registration form on-line, (2) attach a copy of his/her birth certificate, a small school photo of himself/herself and a signature on a small sticker (in order to complete the player pass), and (3) include payment in full. Teams must complete the registration process no later than June 14. Payment  options for registration fees include Visa or MasterCard. Additional details regarding the registration process are listed on the ImpactUnited.com website.

TEAM MANGER TRAINING: During this coming soccer year, in the summer, Impact United will again conduct Team Manger training for new team managers.
